I taught Design and Technology (D&T) in secondary schools for over 25 years and, for the last 15 years of teaching, I was Head of Design and Technology in a school in Kent.
I hold a Master's Degree in Technology Education and have been a member of the Design and Technology Association (DATA) throughout my teaching career. I have delivered a number of in-service training courses as a DATA member in which I focused mainly on electronics and physical computing.
I have recently been employed as a visiting lecturer at both the University of Greenwich and Canterbury Christ Church University where I delivered the D&T component to both undergraduate and post graduate students on both the secondary and primary Initial Teacher Training (ITT) programme.
For four years I delivered a component part of the D&T School Knowledge Enhancement (SKE) programme at Roehampton University.
I have recently been employed by a school academy to oversee the progress of Early Career Teachers (ECT), D&T trainee students and provide support for them in both workshop sessions and inside the classroom.
Until last year I was the Joint Design and Technology ITT Tutor at Roehampton University where I taught on the PGCE programme.
